How's the SV compared to the Buell? I thought an SV was going to be my first bike until I realized they are too tall for me.

The SV's a great bike but it hasn't much charisma. The suspension is pretty lame as are the brakes. It's a fun bike to ride though. A good handling bike after you sink some money into it.

the sv's are awesome for track days, my friend put GSXR forks, fairings shipped from euro by his friends from across the pond and added bars, risers, steering damp, along with a boat load of other things. Man what bike.
