Don't know if you guys saw or have read anything about this....
Daytona Sportbike Race 1 Podium and Press Conference from Auto Club Speedway (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlQhqS9myg0)
Wait to you get to the post race press conference..............Hacking is being a D*CK. Man I thought that he was cool...........well he in now fined and suspended indefinitely............
and then there was Daytona Sportbike Race 2 Press Conference from Auto Club Speedway (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCPctYu0txg&feature=related)
WOW:eek:..................can feel the love between DiSalvo and Hacking and Danny is just trying not to laugh...............
Great to see a Buell doing a burnout in Victory Lane!!!!!!!!!!!
It's pretty simple, really. Hacking's a dick and has pretty much always been a dick. With the new rules structure, the results will be more or less the same, but there will be some that will be able to show up and put in some results based on their riding rather than the machines being so much better than other smaller private teams.
Hacking didn't have six months of testing a preproduction bike this year.
Mladin didn't either, but he's a guy that can really ride a motorcycle, period. I'm quite impressed how he's still putting the hammer down without the forks that he had in the past. Also pretty cool to see Tommy Hayden doing well while he's healthy.

The guy is on a mission.......and has the talent and poise to be a winner. Danny has one more fan here. At Daytona he had me when he gets off the bike and starts to wrap tape on it to try to speed up things..........passion, drive and talent....
Hacking has god given talent to ride a bike, however attitude and sportsmanship is the measure of the man. Sponsors are hard to come bye. Attitudes like that loses you fans and sponsors.

It was funny reading some of the comments below the videos also. I still can't believe some people complain because the Buell had twice the CC's as the I-4's Well guess what, the I-4's had twice the cylinders....:p:D

Good point!
I am being lazy and not looking up the rules, but I think
I recall that the twins have to carry more weight.
A rule of thumb that I have used for years (it may be wrong)
was that 7 lbs = 1 horsepower. Plus a heavier bike is a bit
more of a challenge to throw around!!!
Eslick throws it like he is flat trackin', a fun rider to watch.
He always puts on a show during the race at Mid-O at the
end of the back straight going into the shap right.
Sllliiiidddes it in!:D

Hey Rush Hour, if you find the rules for DMG / AMA please post the link, I have been trying to find a copy of them.
I think that you are correct about the weight on the Buell has to be more because of the HP increase. I think that it was SD26 that mentioned something about it in another thread......
Cheers.........

From what I have read, across the board the weight is a 3 to 1 ratio - 3 horsepower to 1 lbs. Buell has been given a bit of leniency in this area from what I understand, and is allowed to run the same weight as the smaller CC Ducati.. BTW: Also regarding this thread, I guess Hacking apologized, and will be allowed to race at Road Atlanta - He is however on probation for the rest of the season!

there you go. 4x the cyls on one crank firing 4 plugs getting power strokes as 2:1 over the buell.
and weigh a lot lighter so they dont feel like gravity will be pulling them off the track on the corners which makes them easier on the tires.
no matter what there will always be one in the bunch griping.
add up the power divide by weight. they all are running the same overall ratios. and i'm sure some inlines are cheating till they get caught.
its who cheats best without getting caught.
a power toggle on the run switch offsets the ecm, thats not cheating is it.
its a timer on the o2 line which stays on 10/ 15 minutes then kicks off where the o2 sees a rich fuel= power and backs the bike down a lot on the ego. passing the dyno. then as its sitting in the line running it goes off the ego goes to 100 and the power is back on. flip the switch the timer is on and the power dies again. thats till it times out and the rider triggers the open loop and the ego atomically resets to the 100%+ afv/afr of open loop and wot % gain multipliers.
or the dyno run is skewed by a preset afv being put into the bike to run lean less power. then triggered again by the timer/relay at the end of the race.
two ways same result.
all bikes can do it inline 4's and twins. the timers are 149.00 thats it.
its not rocket science here.
but i would not do that.:D lol

The best racing to me is when the playing field is even (no flames please, I mean all one type of bike). One of the best races I ever watched was one that had nothing but Triumph Thruxtons. It was close and the raw talent of the rider determined the win... it stops the whining as well.
I would love to hear an all Buell race, forget watching, I'd just love to hear it.

That is how the Bostroms broke into AMA...the 883 series.
Came from flat track into road racing via twins.
I personally think that the BEST racing in the world the
past few seasons and it looks like this year again is:
WORLD SUPERBIKE
Go Ben Spies!

Originally, Daytona Sportbike was going to be enforced with a dyno limit.
http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=33334
The rules structure that was eventually put in place after HRA and Mel Harris bitched and paid the MIC to "develop" a competing series which had no dyno limits. But the structure should leave the opportunities reasonably open for some development above those originally proposed limits.

Not a lot that can be changed though.

Well, yeah, it's doable...
But the rules don't mandate it.
The manufacturer teams don't race in HP measured classes either. And a dyno can be over come as Mike began to explain.

the dyno stuff is already going on. its been done by a few guys on test bikes. and i did it myself on my test to see if it would work . IT DOES WORK.
