Rear axle torque specs

Hello, what should the rear axle torque spec be on a 2002 m2 cyclone, I tightened the belt, and the rear axle seemed to be too tight. My jap bikes where usally around 60 to 80 ft lbs, this bike seemed to be well over that. Could some one let me know? Thanks.

Have a 97S3T and the torqure specs. in my FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL:

Front axle nut - 48-53 ft. lbs.

Rear axle nut - 68-73 ft. lbs.
