Riding tomorrow, 8/12

Going for my usual weekend ride tomorrow, if anyone is interested in a bit of a putt around.

Route is loosely 3090 from Carlos to 149, 149 through the Sam Houston National Forest to Montgomery, 105 from Montgomery to Navasota, 3090 back to Carlos. It's a short hop- about 150 miles, but depending on my rear tire, right leg and mood, I'll probably run it twice, or spend some time exploring a few side roads in the area, or both. 400+ miles is NOT out of the question.

If anyone wants to go, feel free to suggest a meeting place and time- otherwise I will wait 30 minutes at the Chevron at 974 and US6 before heading out @ 1100.

it is too bad my friend Jan doesn't still live here. she loves to go on 400 miles rides. i have to go to houston today. :(

Just as well- I managed 100 miles total. I stopped at Yankee's in Carlos to get a coke before hitting 3090 and noticed that I had a "your about to have cords showing" line half-way around my rear tire. Aborted the ride right there- I have to get another 350 or so miles out of that tire before my new ones get here.

2400ish out of the stock Dunlop rear, if I'd have changed it as soon as it hit the wear bars. You'd think a tire that rides that badly would last longer.

With a little luck, I should be on a barely scrubbed in set of Corsa 3's by weekend after next (my next weekend off) Who wants to go for a ride then?
